Who wants free donuts, a break from the cold, and a picture with Chuck?
On Sunday, Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Admissions Office at Western Connecticut State University hosted an Open House for current high school students who are interested in or have already applied to WCSU. The Feldman Arena in O’Neill Center was replete with rows of tables which had representatives from different departments and on-campus organizations.
Tours of both the Midtown and Westside campuses were offered every half hour from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. According to Jay Murray, Associate Vice President of Enrollment Services at WCSU, 454 families came from all over the tri-state area to meet faculty members, student groups, and representatives from administrative offices at WCSU.
Chuck the Colonial was also in attendance to make the rounds and take pictures. If incoming students post their picture with Chuck on social media, the most creative will win a $50 gift card to the school bookstore. Not surprisingly, more parents than prospective students wanted their pictures taken with Chuck.
