Week 7 at WestConn is upon us and, as we inch our way closer to the halfway mark of the semester, so is Homecoming Weekend.

But first… 

On Monday, Painter Angela Dufresne will be in Room 144 of the Visual and Performing Arts Center at 11 a.m. to discuss her work.

On Tuesday, stop by the Midtown Student Center Restaurant between noon and 2 p.m. for the Electronic Cookbook Tasting Celebration, hosted by the Office of Diversity and Equity and Sodexo in celebration of Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month. Women’s Tennis heads to Bridgewater St. for a 3 p.m. start, and Women’s Soccer travels to Worcester St. to take on the Lancers at 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, Field Hockey will look to continue their winning ways as they host Mass.-Dartmouth in the WAC at 6 p.m.

On Thursday, the opening for “Covering Blue Note,” an exhibition that will be on display through Wednesday, Oct. 16, will be at 6 p.m. in the VPAC Gallery. WCSU’s Institute for Holistic Health Studies will host the Mudra Meditation series in Room 103 of Warner Hall beginning at 7 p.m. Volleyball hosts John Jay in the O’Neill Center at 7 p.m, and Coffeehouse, featuring Christian Mortera, gets going at 8 p.m. in the Colonial Corner of the Midtown Student Center.

On Friday, registration for Parents and Family Weekend will start at 3 p.m. at the Maron Hotel’s VIVO! Bar & Grill, located at 42 Lake Ave. Extension across from the Westside Campus. WCSU’s departments of Education & Educational Psychology and Social Work will host a play therapy conference in the Westside Campus Center Ballroom from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Four of WCSU’s Jazz Combos will perform beginning at 7 p.m. in the VPAC’s Veronica Hagman Concert Hall.

On Saturday, Men’s and Women’s Cross Country will compete in the Westfield Invitational to get a day full of Colonials sports off and running. Volleyball will take on Castleton at noon, followed by a 4 p.m. match against Nichols in the O’Neill Center. Women’s Soccer will host Castleton in the Westside Athletic Complex at noon, and Women’s Tennis will do the same on the Westside Tennis Courts at 1 p.m. Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving will open up their seasons on the road in a dual meet at William Paterson beginning at 1 p.m. Field Hockey will head to Castleton to take on the Spartans at 4 p.m., with Men’s Soccer to follow at 6:30 p.m.

Football will cap off Homecoming Weekend as look to extend their unbeaten record to 5-0 in a 5 p.m. matchup with Mass.-Maritime in the WAC.

On Sunday, the WCSU Wind Ensemble, conducted by Fernando Jimenez, and the WCSU Symphonic Band, conducted by Matthew Doiron, will perform in the VPAC’s Veronica Hagman Concert Hall at beginning at 3 p.m.
