Roots & Shoots holds Earth Day poetry contest


Attention, writers and anyone who wants to receive sustainable prizes!

The Roots & Shoots club is holding an Earth Day Poetry Contest and is offering prizes to three winners!

The poem has to be about the community, the environment or animals. Email your entries to the president Michelle Bissett, at

Each person can submit multiple entries.

The three winners will be awarded prizes such as seeds, gardening tools, recycled school supplies, or even a hammock.

The National Center for University Roots & Shoots is a program belonging to the Jane Goodall Institute, established in 2003. The center serves as a regional and national center of excellence, promoting engagement among students in local, regional and global conservation and environmental issues.
