WCSU Students, Alumni, Faculty come and support Art, Music, Film, and Theater students and celebrate community patrons of art at local theater Bethel Cinema! On Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 6 p.m., there will be a silent auction, screening of the film “Danny Says” at 7 p.m. and an after party.
Proceeds from the screening and auction will benefit the First Annual Cult of Neal Scholarship in honor of long-time resident of Bethel, regular at Bethel Cinema, local artist, cultural influencer, and WCSU Alum, Neal Adams Buker. The film of the night, dedicated to Neal Buker’s memory, “Danny Says” by local filmmaker Brendan Toller is about the journey of Danny Fields and Andy Warhol: profound rock and punk music influences, and cultural legends. Brendan Toller will be holding a Q&A about the film afterwards. The event credits Film Fest 52 Tom Carruthers , Lisa Scails – Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut, Bethel Cinema, and Chef Michael Bick – Somethings Fishy Catering.
Tickets for the event are 25$ (include the VIP reception, film screening, Q&A and auction), Tickets to the film are 10.50$, and 9.00$ for seniors and students (bring your student ID!)
